This new interconnect is designed for use in add-on cards for PCI LAN/Modem applications in smaller systems such as notebook PCs, docking stations (1) A cradle for a portable device that serves to charge the unit and connect it to other sources or destinations.  board connector with an ultra-low profile of 1.85 mm and contact spacing of 1.25 mm. CA's PCPR incorporates a blade-type contact design to protect against damage during mating.

The specific application for this connector is for a small Mini-PCI card placed on the motherboard Also called the "system board," it is the main printed circuit board in an electronic device, which contains sockets that accept additional boards. In a desktop computer, the motherboard contains the CPU, chipset, PCI bus slots, AGP slot, memory sockets and controller circuits for the . The Mini-PCI card is connected to the motherboard by a system connector with additional connector(s) used for the LAN (Local Area Network) A communications network that serves users within a confined geographical area. The "clients" are the user's workstations typically running Windows, although Mac and Linux clients are also used.  and Modem interconnect.

Depending upon the location of the card, the LAN/Modem connectors may either be a Type II: RJ11/RJ45 combination (edge of motherboard location) or a Type I/III: 2/14 position connector (internal motherboard location). CA's PCPR connector is available in the 2 & 14 pin version designed for the internal motherboard location.

Our design follows the Mini-PCI specification. CA is a member of the PCI Special Interest Group, which is leading the development of this new technology.

With headquarters in Irvine, Circuit Assembly Corp. has three decades of experience as a leading developer of interface connectors for the electronics industry. The company delivers a host of interconnect products for multiple applications.
