Circle International Group Names Gary Frantz Director of Corporate Communications.


SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1998--Circle International Group announced today the appointment of Gary N. Frantz as Director of Corporate Communications Corporate communications is the process of facilitating information and knowledge exchanges with internal and key external groups and individuals that have a direct relationship with an enterprise. .

Frantz, 44, will have management responsibility for overall corporate communications strategies and activities to raise awareness of Circle in the marketplace, and enhance the company's position as a leading provider of global transportation and logistics solutions, said Beatson. He will oversee public relations public relations, activities and policies used to create public interest in a person, idea, product, institution, or business establishment. By its nature, public relations is devoted to serving particular interests by presenting them to the public in the most , corporate and employee communications, advertising, and marketing collateral programs. He also will direct Circle's Internet and Intranet activities, and their continued development as an information and customer service resource.

A 19-year veteran of the public relations field, Frantz joins Circle from Con-Way Transportation Services, the $1.7 billion North American North American

 Transportation Inc. As Con-Way's director of corporate communications since 1994, he was responsible for public relations and marketing communications, as well as managing design, content and strategic application development for Con-Way's web site on the Internet.

Prior to Con-Way he was director of public relations for Consolidated Freightways, Inc., responsible for various corporate communications and media relations activities for CF and its subsidiaries. Frantz joined CF in 1987 as manager of public relations, following eight years with the Bechtel Corporation in San Francisco, where he advanced through positions of staff writer, editor, senior public relations specialist and public affairs supervisor. He also previously worked as a journalist.
