Circadian reports third quarter results, expands asthma center disease management program based on the company's ability to reduce the cost of treating asthma.

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 23, 1995--Circadian Inc. (OTC: CKDN.U), innovators of disease management programs including asthma and a leading supplier of products for the physicians' office market, reported a net loss of $1,184,000 (10 cents per share) for its third quarter ended March 31, 1995, on revenue of $1,785,000. This compares to a net loss of $473,000 (5 cents per share) for its quarter ended March 31, 1994, on revenue of $2,141,000.

The results for the quarter ended March 31, 1995, include increased spending for sales and marketing of the Asthma Center program. Nine month followup data show that Circadian's disease management program significantly reduces the cost of treating asthma. The results do not include deferred income from the Asthma Center Division.

For the nine months ended March 31, 1995, the company reported a net loss of $2,476,000 (21 cents per share) on revenue of $7,068,000, as compared to a net loss of $1,395,000 (18 cents per share) on revenue of $5,827,000 for the nine months ended Dec. 31, 1994.

Circadian's services include Asthma Centers, and Asthma Pharmacy, and medical/surgical supplies. Circadian's products include ambulatory heart monitoring, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, pulmonary function testing and laser equipment. The company has decided to discontinue the sale of its laser products as of June 30, 1995. The corporate headquarters are in San Jose.
