CiraNova's $1.75 million Series A funding was led by Dan Rubin's team at Alloy Ventures, with participation from a leading semiconductor manufacturer. Robert Latta, general counsel to CiraNova and partner at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, also brought this leading technology law firm into the round.

"CiraNova has an exciting business model as we are pioneering a new approach for analog integrated circuit integrated circuit (IC), electronic circuit built on a semiconductor substrate, usually one of single-crystal silicon. The circuit, often called a chip, is packaged in a hermetically sealed case or a nonhermetic plastic capsule, with leads extending from it for  design," said Lewis. "The Series A round will help in our effort to bring our product to market. On top of that, two outstanding individuals, Dan Rubin and Jim Hogan have joined our board of directors. Their expertise and vision will help us build a great product and a great company."

Hogan stated, "I am delighted to be a part of the company. In my experience, analog is the most difficult and risky component of System on Chip (SoC) design. What excites me about CiraNova is they have made intelligent trade-offs between automation and designer intervention, which enables designers to choose how much or how little they want to intervene in the process. This will be a significant aid in enhancing analog physical design productivity."

"Alloy Ventures invested in CiraNova because of a combination of the product, team, and market opportunity," said Dan Rubin. "Analog productivity tools are the next big EDA opportunity, and I am very impressed with CiraNova's approach."
