Cipsa to invest $15 million in India.

 manufacturer Circuitos Impresos Profesionales (Cipsa) has formed a joint venture in India with entrepreneurs Anil Gupta Anil Gupta (born 1947, UK) is a comedy writer and producer. He has produced many shows on radio and television including Goodness Gracious Me, the spoof chat show The Kumars at No. 42, The Office and Bromwell High.  and Alok Garg. They plan to set up a manufacturing facility in Doddaballapur, near Bangalore.

Cipsa holds a 51% stake in the joint venture Cipsa-RIC India Pvt Ltd, and the two men hold the rest. The company, along with Gupta and Garg, took over the manufacturing facility of RIC RIC Rhode Island College

 India for an undisclosed sum in December 2005 to start the joint venture. It expects to invest up to $15 million in phases to expand the facility, which will be operational in April this year.

"We have already made an investment of $2 million in setting the plant and machinery for the new facility, which will house over 400 people," said Gupta, vice-chairman, Cipsa-RIC India. "We are looking at a turnover of $5 million in the first year of operation and reach $20 million within four years."

Garg said the company expects to double its capacity to 7,000 [meters.sup.2] in the second quarter of 2006 from the current 3,500 [meters.sup.2], and would like to increase it to 10,000 [meters.sup.2] by 2007. "We also expect to start manufacturing membrane switches A membrane switch is an electrical switch for turning on and off a circuit. It differs from a mechanical switch, which is usually made of copper and plastic parts: a membrane switch is a circuit printed on a PET or ITO. ," he said. Garg added that about 80% of the capacity would be targeted for the exports market.
