Ciprico (Nasdaq:CPCI) announced today the debut of the industry's first 2 Gb/sec storage solution during the NAB2001 convention. The FibreSTORE 2210 combines the best features of the company's FibreSTORE RAID and NETarray 1000 technologies to deliver unprecedented performance within a new 2 Gb/sec architecture. It is the first and only array to provide 400 MB/sec per enclosure, doubling the data delivery speed of today's typical disk array. The FibreSTORE 2210's cutting edge technology meets the demands of a multitude of applications and is particularly suited for broadcast to air, content creation, film scanning and HDTV playback.

Ciprico is the first to bring a true 2 Gb complete solution that is denser, faster and more reliable. An extension of Ciprico's current FibreSTORE RAID solution, the FibreSTORE 2210, a RAID-4 solution in a common enclosure also used by the NETarray 1000, is designed to deliver isochronous performance required for video servers and streaming applications where guaranteed delivery of visual data without exception is critical. This high bandwidth product allows users to move their large data files twice as fast, which is critical to post-production applications as well as satellite imagery data collection applications in the Government and Military markets.

This SAN-ready storage solution is a 10 drive system with capacities up to 730 GB per array. The system supports up to 100 drives in ten enclosures per rack, totaling 7.3 TB per rack, using 73 GB drives. It is exceptionally fault-tolerant and designed with no single point of failure. All active components are hot swappable, including power supplies, fans, and loop by-pass cards. Storage management in the FibreSTORE 2210 is easily handled using standard Internet protocols through an integrated Ethernet port. This allows for local and remote management with standard, off-the-shelf software programs for secure sites. At anytime, from anywhere, you can check the status of your storage system and receive instant notification if an event should occur.
