Ciprico's NETarray Passes MIL-STD 901, Grade B Testing With No Exceptions.

Business Editors

MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2001

Ciprico Inc. (Nasdaq:CPCI See CompactPCI. ) announced today that their NETarray storage solution recently passed the MIL-STD MIL-STD Military Standard  901, Grade B, Class III shock testing verifying the product's durability in the most rigorous and harsh environments.

The MIL-STD 901, Grade B testing is a standard U. S. Navy test for shock in shipboard command and control applications. Repeated 400 pound blows to the NETarray unit on all three axes were performed from heights of one foot, three feet and five feet. The unit passed with no exceptions. Test results are validated by an independent test laboratory and available upon request.

"Passing this military standard is nothing new for Ciprico products," said Steve Kovacs, Ciprico Government & Military Market Manager. "We are again demonstrating to our many military customers our strength in militarized mil·i·ta·rize

Building on Ciprico's open architecture product strategy, the NETarray provides a true heterogeneous storage solution, supporting multiple operating systems on such common platforms as SUN, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries) , HP, and COMPAQ, among others. The NETarray's built-in web server provides all storage management necessary to manage and maintain the NETarray. Access to this utility is through a standard web browser The program that serves as your front end to the Web on the Internet. "Whether on a ship, airborne or wheeled vehicle platform, Ciprico has developed a strong reputation of implementing durable and reliable storage solutions." adds Kovacs. "Ciprico is the leader in the military market in providing the most complete range of bandwidth, I/O and Storage Area Network (SAN) solutions for visual, image, and other data intensive applications - `protecting your image' - no matter what the operational environment."
