CipherLab Helps Pepsi Pop in Mexico; Major Pepsi Bottler Uses CipherLab Products to Improve Data Capture Across 15 States in Mexico.

PLANO, Texas -- CipherLab, a leading innovator in Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) for the retail, warehouse and distribution markets, today announced that GEUSA Grupo Embotelladoras Unidas S.A. de C.V. (MXK:GEUPECB), a $400M (US) manufacturer and distributor of bottled water and soft drinks throughout much of Mexico, including products under the Pepsi brand, is using CipherLab's portable terminals for improved data capture in distribution and field service operations. GEUSA will use the company's CPT-8000 terminals to improve route accounting in its bottled water business, and CPT-8001 terminals for data capture in field engineer maintenance for refrigerators, vending machines and beverage dispensers.

A number of factors determined the selection of CipherLab's terminals, including service, price, small size and reliability. GEUSA plans to eventually deploy them in 15 states throughout Mexico.

VDC predicted continued strong market growth for terminals and hand-held scanners as the U.S. and Western Europe increases outsourcing of manufacturing to these countries.
