Cinesite Broadens Scope By Acquiring Effects Associates.


LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 28, 1999--

Cinesite (Europe) Ltd. announced here today that it has acquired Effects Associates Effects Associates is a physical-effects facility based in Pinewood Studios and one of the longest serving such companies in Europe. Effects Associates earned an Emmy(R) award for its miniature models in the epic mini-series War and Remembrance War and Remembrance is a novel by Herman Wouk, published in 1978, which is the sequel to The Winds of War. Cinesite opened digital studios in Los Angeles in 1992 and in the Soho district of London in 1993. The latter operates as Cinesite (Europe) Ltd. The company has subsequently provided a broad range of digital effects and restoration services for hundreds of motion pictures, television programs and commercials.
