Cinemark Initiates CFO Search.

PLANO, Texas--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--March 27, 2000

Cinemark USA, Inc. announces that Jeffrey J. Stedman has resigned, effective April 10, 2000, as Cinemark's Chief Financial Officer.

Mr. Stedman is assuming the role of Chief Financial Officer for a leading business to business Internet company based in Austin, Texas. "Jeff has been infected with dot com fever. It is a unique opportunity for him to help build a company in the New Economy. Jeff has been a valuable member in our organization. We will miss him, but we wish him great success," said Lee Roy Mitchell, Cinemark USA's Chief Executive Officer. "This was a very difficult decision for me. Over the last decade, I've been part of an incredible team that has changed the moviegoing experience around the world. Cinemark's future opportunities capitalizing on its international platform, modern asset base and technology leadership is unparalleled in the industry," said Stedman.

The Company will immediately commence a search for a new Chief Financial Officer. Robert Copple will act as interim Chief Financial Officer until the new Chief Financial Officer has been hired. Mr. Copple was employed by Cinemark USA from 1993 to 1997 as its Director of Finance. Since 1997, Mr. Copple has consulted for Cinemark USA on special projects. Prior to joining Cinemark USA in 1993, Mr. Copple was a manager with Deloitte & Touche, L.L.P.
