CinemaStar President and Chief Executive Officer John Ellison Jr., the theater will show free films from 10 a.m. to midnight in all 10 auditoriums during the two-day open house, and free Pepsi and popcorn will be served. ``We will be showing modern day classics and recent blockbusters such as `Jurassic Park' and `Apollo 13','' said Ellison. ``We're inviting the people of Perris and the surrounding communities to come and experience for themselves what we call `the CinemaStar difference' -- LucasFilm's THX A design system that provides realistic sound playback for movie and home theater from THX, Ltd., San Rafael, CA (www.thx.com), an independent spin-off from Lucasfilm, Ltd. The theater will begin showing first-run films at regular prices on Friday, although free films will be shown at selected times through September. For the first two weeks, the first show of the day (prior to 11 a.m.) in all 10 auditoriums will be on the house, said Ellison. In addition, CinemaStar will be showing one free film all day long from Sept. 6 to Oct. 3 -- ``Jurassic Park'' the first week, followed by ``Stand and Deliver,'' ``GoldenEye'' and ``Apollo 13'' in subsequent weeks. ``Our continued expansion is in keeping with the growth in the movie industry,'' said Ellison. ``Hollywood is producing more movies, and backing them with larger promotional and advertising budgets than ever before. The result is that overall industry box office receipts continue to break records.'' The opening of the Perris Plaza 10 brings to six the number of theaters operated by the Oceanside, Calif.-based chain. Last March, CinemaStar opened a 14-screen Ultraplex in Riverside, Calif., at the Mission Grove shopping center. That theater has set attendance records for the Riverside area, according to Ellison. In November, the company will open a 10-screen complex in the University Village development adjacent to the U.C.
