The addition of the CinemaStar Chula Vista 6 Theaters brings a total of 30 screens currently run by the San Diego-based luxury theater chain. The new theaters are located in the heart of the restaurant district in downtown Chula Vista.

CinemaStar also has announced plans to develop a 14-screen UltraPlex theater in the Mission Grove Plaza shopping center shopping center, a concentration of retail, service, and entertainment enterprises designed to serve the surrounding region. The modern shopping center differs from its antecedents—bazaars and marketplaces—in that the shops are usually amalgamated into  in Riverside, Calif., which will be open for business in December of this year.

This acquisition is part of an extensive expansion program currently underway by CinemaStar theaters.

CinemaStar Luxury Theaters, formerly Nickelodeon Theaters, operates three multiplex theaters in San Diego County, including the Galaxy 6 in Bonsall, the Mission Marketplace 8 in Oceanside and the Chula Vista 10.
