Cinema idea aids church.

JIM CARREY will be making an appearance in Cadeby tomorrow as the lights go down on the village's first ever cinema showing.

Community fund-raisers have chosen the hit romantic comedy Bruce Almighty to be the first film to be screened for public viewing in the tiny parish near Market Bosworth.

The church hall will be converted into a cinema for the night, in a 21st century money-making move to aid the village's 13th century church.

All Saints, in the centre of Cadeby, needs about pounds 100,000 worth of repairs in the next few years, if it is to stay open.

Concerned villagers last year joined forces to form a fund-raising committee in a bid to save it and set up the Cadeby Community Fund, to which proceeds from the cinema showing will be donated.

Doors will open at 6.30pm with the film to start at 7pm and tickets cost pounds 2 on the door.
