Cinema hooks up for opera.


ONE of the world's top opera houses Opera houses are listed by continent, then by country with the name of the opera house and city; the opera company is sometimes named for clarity. Note: there are many theatres whose name includes the words Opera House  will be coming to Tyneside - thanks to a cinema linkup link·up

Classical music fans will get the chance to see performances from New York's Metropolitan Opera House when shows are broadcast live at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle. Broadcasts of world class opera and live plays have been screened at the popular cinema since it reopened in 2008.

The cinema's programme manager Jonny Tull said: "We are ecstatic ec·stat·ic

The season begins with Puccini's Tosca next Saturday at 6pm, followed by Verdi's Aida on October 24 and Puccini's Turandot on November 7. Tickets range from pounds 18 to pounds 25. Call the Tyneside Cinema box office on 0845 217 9909.
