Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa Breaks Life-Size Pinata to Launch 1-877-TU- LINEA at "Cinco de Mayo at El Pueblo"

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Latinos celebrating Cinco de Mayo and representatives from Language Line Services looked on Saturday as Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa broke a giant pinata to commemorate the breaking of down of language barriers for Southern California's growing population of limited-English speaking Latinos. Mayor Villaraigosa was introducing 1-877-TU-LINEA, Language Line Services' telephone interpreter service dedicated to Spanish speakers.

"The city of Los Angeles is dedicated to effectively serving each and every one of our residents regardless of language," said Mayor Villaraigosa. "On behalf of our staff, I welcome 1-877-TU-LINEA to our city and look forward to the cultural footprint it will leave in the community."

Spanish speakers in Southern California will now find it easier to communicate with businesses and independently conduct their day-to-day affairs thanks to 1-877-TU-LINEA, a companion to Your World. Your Language.(SM), the first, free over-the-phone interpretation service launched by Language Line Services and AT&T, Inc., (NYSE:T) in October 2006. By dialing 1-877-TU-LINEA, Spanish speakers can communicate in their own language to a host of local and national banking, insurance, telephone, Internet, utility and entertainment businesses at anytime and at no charge.
