In a second ruling, the PUCO reduced the rate CBT charges long distance companies to complete calls over the CBT network. The charge is reduced from 1.9 cents a minute to 1.73 cents a minute. It is up to the long distance companies to determine whether they will pass the savings along to their customers through lower rates.

The reductions are part of CBT's alternative regulation plan approved by the PUCO in May, 1994.

The commission also ruled that CBT's rate of return does not exceed the 11.93 percent ordered in the alternative regulation agreement. Had the rate of return exceeded the 11.93 percent, the PUCO would have ordered CBT to return the overage Overage
