Cignal Signs a Multi-Year, $38 Million Contract to Provide Winstar with Worldwide Data and Internet Connectivity.


CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 17, 1999--

Cignal Global Communications, a next-generation international data carrier, announced today that it has signed a $38 million agreement with Winstar Communications, Inc., a leading provider of local, long-distance and information services See Information Systems. . Under the multi-year contract, Cignal will provide Winstar with dedicated broadband Internet access Broadband Internet access, often shortened to just "broadband", is high speed Internet access—typically contrasted with dial-up access over modem.
