SUPER EASY BIKE AND BARGE

Ciclismo Classico's new Bike and Barge trip follows the course of Italy's longest river, the majestic Po. Throughout the week riders will shift from bikes to boat as the itinerary unfolds along the second half of the river, exploring the Emiglia-Romana region. Guests will discover composer Giuseppe Verdi's roots; explore the jewel cities of Parma, Ferrara and Mantova; and explore the natural sights on the Mincio Reserve.

THE ART OF BIKE MAKING, featuring Celebrity frame builder Richard Sachs

The creation of the new Art of Bike Making Tour is another unique opportunity for adventure travelers to learn while cycling through an amazing landscape. One of our guides for the entire trip is famed bike builder Richard Sachs of Richard Sachs Cycles in Connecticut. Guests on this special trip will meet up with Dario Pegoretti at his Pegoretti Brothers workshop in Caldonazzo and learn firsthand how a frame is designed, welded and painted in his shop. In addition, guests will also visit with Scapin, another important bicycle artisan and constructor who steers clear of mainstream designs to produce beautiful, well-crafted frames. In operation since 1957, Scapin welcomes us to his factory and introduces guests to cutting edge models and shows us how he combines fine craftsmanship with leading edge technology.

PEDAL AND PARLA ITALIANO, A Cycling and Language Immersion Experience

The new Pedal and Parla Italiano tour combines the adventure traveler's quest to learn/improve their Italian language skills with great cycling, extraordinary cuisine and a complete cultural immersion in all things Italian. The setting is the spa town of Acqui Terme in Piedmont. Known for over 2000 years for its thermal water sources the locale is perfect for cycling. Guests can expect to indulge in the local flavors of Piedmont; practice Italian at a local soccer match; attend a Bocce tournament; picnic and pedal with a local cycling club; learn how to make tomato sauce and mostarda with Lucia and Nonna Bianca; and explore a local wine cellar and help harvest grapes. On top of training their senses, guests will have the opportunity to take a real Italian language course with Professore Angelo Arata and should be prepared to run into many more surprise teachers along the way.
