I enjoyed the extended obituaries in the December issue (see "Transitions," page 99). Bella Lewitzky was without question one of the greatest dancers I have ever had the good fortune to experience. She made her debut at Brooklyn Academy of Music Brooklyn Academy of Music, performing arts center located in the borough of Brooklyn, N.Y. and popularly known as BAM. Founded in 1859 and opened in 1861, it is the oldest such institution still in operation in the United States.  in the early '70s when she was in her mid-50s. It was one of the major events of the season and of my entire life. She was electrifying e·lec·tri·fy
