UNDER-fire showjumper Cian O'Connor Cián O'Connor (born 12 November, 1979, Dublin) is an Irish equestrian, who won a show jumping gold medal at the 2004 Olympics which was later stripped from him due to drug offences.  was back on a horse just hours after he escaped injury in a weekend car crash.

The 24-year-old was shaken by the crash as he travelled to a horse show in Kill, Co Meath.

But the Olympic champion managed to ride in two horses in competition afterwards despite the shock of the smash.

Gardai were called to the scene when O'Connor's Audi Quattro

was in collision with a tractor at Ratoath, Co Meath, on Saturday.

The driver of the tractor was also unhurt.

The rider is currently at the centre of a doping scandal after his Olympic winning horse Waterford Crystal tested positive for a banned substance.

The showjumper is still awaiting the results of the B blood sample taken from the horse after the A sample tested positive.

But following the disappearance of the B urine sample last week, O'Connor is likely to hold on to his gold medal if the tests prove to be negative.
