This integration will speed the titling and effects process for editors and increase on-air accuracy.

"We are very pleased to be working with the Grass Valley Group," commented Roger Henderson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chyron Chyron may refer to:

. "The availability of a Chyron titling function within the NewsEdit system, plus the ability to import existing iNFiNiT! and Duet files, will enable broadcasters to achieve consistent channel branding, as well as accurate graphics information for each individual news story. We believe that this integration is emblematic of both companies' drive for openness, as users will now be able to import existing Chyron graphics created by iNFiNiT! family products or Duet-SD and LE directly into the NewsEdit system."

Additionally, editors can easily create titles and other graphics through the easy-to-use Chyron titling module available in the NewsEdit system, or use the more advanced Lyric editing package--all through the NewsEdit interface. This interface changes automatically, depending on the mode in which an editor is working, to display only the tools and information the editor needs.

"By putting control of titling and effects into the news edit bay through the integration of the NewsEdit nonlinear editing See nonlinear video editing.  system and the Chyron graphics software, the Grass Valley Group and Chyron are offering a new level of speed, accuracy, and polish for stations' on-air look," said Mike Cronk Verb 1. cronk - utter a hoarse sound, like a raven

The vanguard of the solution is the Grass Valley Digital News Production Workgroup, which includes the FeedClip(TM) interactive feed capture system, NewsEdit nonlinear editing system, and NewsQ(TM) manual playback application. These PC-based systems all feature native MPEG (Moving Pictures Experts Group) An ISO/ITU standard for compressing digital video. Pronounced "em-peg," it is the universal standard for digital terrestrial, cable and satellite TV, DVDs and digital video recorders (DVRs).  and DV/DVCPRO support at up to 50 mb/s.

By eliminating pre-digitizing in tape to disk editing, the NewsEdit system is virtually twice as fast as other nonlinear editing systems. It is the industry's only truly open, PC-based editing system designed from the ground up to replace the record deck in cuts-only editing bays. Unlike most other nonlinear editing systems, the NewsEdit system enables editors to view edits as they are made--just like a machine-to-machine edit bay. An edit does not have to be replayed just to be sure it's right.
