Chyron Demonstrates Capabilities of Its Streaming Services Division At the London Fashion Week.

Chyron Corporation (NYSE:CHY), a leading provider of broadcast technology, announced today that its Streaming Services Division partnered with Street.tv and New Media Industries to provide one of the first large-scale web casts of a major fashion show, the London Fashion Week.

Street.tv, a London-based digital media company, filmed the event, which was held between February 18 and 23, 2001. The interviews and shows were immediately encoded and hosted by Chyron Streaming Services, so that visitors to London Fashion Week's web site were able to view the footage. New Media Industries, also based in London, produced the web site.

Chyron's streaming media technology allows web sites to broadcast audio and visual material. Chyron encoded the footage at two speed ranges, 28-56kbps and 100-256kbps, enabling users with a standard connection to see and hear the video tracks and users with a high-speed connection to enjoy VHS quality images. Users were able to begin viewing files almost as soon as the file download process begins, rather than waiting for the whole file to be downloaded.
