Churchill takes a shine to new field.

Well, that settles it. The renovated baseball field at Churchill High School is officially a hitter's ballpark.

At least it was on Monday, as the Lancers' offense was relentless in a 13-2 victory against Thurston that lasted only 4 1/2 innings INNINGS, estates. Lands gained from the sea by draining. Cunn. L. Dict. h. t.; Law of Sewers, 31.  - or not much longer than the pregame ceremony to dedicate the new field, which recently underwent a $57,000 makeover.

"This group of kids has been looking forward to this since last season," Churchill coach Erik Hoberg said. "These guys have been on a mission and they want to win a league championship."

A two-run single in the second inning by Jack Mehl put Churchill up 5-0, and Matt Copeland, Jimmy McDaniel and Mehl all drove home runs in the third, as the Lancers' lead grew to 10-0.

McDaniel finished with a team-high three hits.
