Churchill Downs Unveils Derby 133 Logo, Officially Licensed Merchandise.

The Kentucky Derby 133 logo, featuring sharp edges and broad strokes as if to visualize a blur of speed, also prominently displays the number 133 and the event date, May 5, 2007. The logo, which will serve as the official emblem for the 133rd renewal of the world-famous "Run for the Roses," was created for the fifth consecutive year by the Churchill Downs Incorporated Churchill Downs Incorporated (NASDAQ: CHDN) is the parent company of Churchill Downs. "We try to change the look of the logo annually to give each running of the race its own distinct flavor," said Larry Borton, director of graphics services. "The Derby 133 logo incorporates a racehorse and the Twin Spires to represent the tradition that is Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby, but mixes those elements with a futuristic design to give an overall younger feel. The logo also incorporates movement, which sets it apart from the logos of recent years."

The logo will be featured on all Kentucky Derby 133 officially licensed merchandise, including apparel, gift items and tickets.

"The unveiling of the Kentucky Derby logo is always an exciting moment, and we are proud to present this striking design as the official symbol to represent the 2007 Derby," said Steve Sexton, president of Churchill Downs. The introduction of the Derby 133 logo coincides with the availability of officially licensed Kentucky Derby merchandise online at www.thederbystore.com.
