Church shindig.PEOPLE in Holyhead have been raising money for the town's St Mary's Church which was vandalised earlier this month. A Celtic evening was held at the Parish Hall on Friday with Casey Jones Noun 1. Casey Jones - United States railroad engineer who died trying to stop his train from crashing into another train; a friend wrote a famous ballad describing the incident (1864-1900) John Luther Jones, Jones , Ray Commando commando, small, elite military raiding and assault unit or soldier. Although the word was coined in the Boer War (1899–1902), the role is as old as battles themselves. In 1940, when the British organized a number of such units, the term came into wide use. and talented musicians from all parts of Anglesey. Parish secretary Veronica Conlon said: "Seventy people attended the most enjoyable evening and from sale of tickets, a raffle and auction, pounds 1,400 was raised. "This is indicative of the outpouring of support that the parish of St Mary's has received over the past two weeks from the wider community of Holyhead and district, for which they are very grateful." |
