Chubb CEO Finnegan elected chairman of the board.


Chubb Chubb is the name of several individuals and companies:

 Corp has elected Chief Executive Officer John D. Finnegan to the additional position of chairman of the board, bringing him to the same level as his predecessor, Dean O'Hare.

In his new position, Finnegan succeeds Joel J. Cohen cohen
 or kohen

, who will resume his previous position of lead director for the board, the company said in a statement.

When Finnegan became CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Chubb on Dec. 1, 2002, the board felt it would he useful to have a separate chairman to help acclimate the new CEO, the company said. After seeing Finnegan in action for a year, the board decided to award him the additional post as chairman, the company said.

Finnegan remains the only management director on the 17-person board of Chubb Corp. As lead director, Cohen's responsibilities will include convening con·vene
