Chrysler LLC says May was best retail month of the year.

U.S. automotive company first incorporated in 1925, as Chrysler Corp. It was founded by Walter P. Chrysler (1875–1940), who built it into the country's second largest automobile manufacturer, noted for its Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler, and Jeep vehicles.

 of 79,010 for the month of May units, representing the best retail sales month of 2009 while the company also had an above average performance compared to industry.

While the company's total unit sales decreased by 46.9 percent from 148,747 compared to the same month a year ago; the company's retail market share however increased.

"We are pleased that consumers responded to Chrysler's reorganization by purchasing our products, resulting in our best retail sales month of the year," said Jim Press James E. "Overall our sales were above expectations during this month of transition", he added.

The cumulative year to date figure stood at 402,900 units as opposed to 750,369 a year ago, dropping 46.3 percent.
