Chromatis Networks Names Robert Barron as President and COO.

Chromatis Networks, Inc., which develops next-generation transport solutions for the metropolitan network environment, announced today that that it has appointed Robert Barron to the posts of president and COO. Barron will oversee all of Chromatis' global operations, including scaling the sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and support teams for volume product delivery.

(TM)) technology in September and will enter trials of its next-generation metro product line with major carriers this fall. SWDM is an innovative solution that enables a carrier to deliver one or more wavelengths to those sites in metropolitan area networks (MANs) that require multi-gigabit capacities while allowing other sites on the same ring that do not require such high capacity to share less-expensive bandwidth.

Previously, Barron was vice president of operations and corporate officer at Nokia/Diamond Lane Communications, where he was instrumental in bringing their xDSL DSLAM (DSL Access Multiplexor) A central office (CO) device for ADSL service that intermixes voice traffic and DSL traffic onto a customer's DSL line.
