Christopher Von Bargen to Head up Institutional Marketing Effort for Gabelli in the Southeast.

Gabelli Asset Management Company (GAMCO) announced that Christopher K. Von Bargen has joined the firm as a senior vice president/marketing in a newly created position. He will accelerate the firm's efforts in the southeastern United States, and be based in Atlanta, GA.

GAMCO is the institutional separate account division of Gabelli Asset Management Inc. (NYSE:GBL), which manages $23 billion in assets of mutual funds, closed end funds, partnerships and private advisory accounts.

"Chris has more than 20 years of marketing experience. He has the right blend of product knowledge, competitive drive and experience dealing with institutional clients, prospects and consultants to help us to grow our institutional business in the Southeast," according to GAMCO Chief Operating Officer Doug Jamieson. Mr. Von Bargen will have the opportunity to build on an already solid relationship base that includes Scientific Atlanta, DeKalb County and Genuine Parts.

Mr. Von Bargen has worked in institutional investment management sales for the past thirteen years. Before joining the Gabelli organization, he had been the regional vice president of the Berger Financial Group LLC, based in Atlanta. Chris, a 1982 graduate of Auburn University, started his career with Merrill Lynch, and has been a consultant with Transamerica Investment Services.
