Christopher Street West Announces 2006 Pride Theme.


LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  -- Christopher Street West Christopher Street West (CSW) is the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) Pride Parade and Festival held in June in West Hollywood, California, USA.

Named after New York City's famed Christopher Street, the site of the Stonewall Rebellion.
 announced that the 2006 Pride theme is "Our Agenda: Love. Equality. Pride."

 President Rodney Scott. "In America people are still fired from their jobs, denied the ability to create a family and denied survivor benefits based on whom they choose to love or who they are. Around the world people have been executed simply for being LGBT LGBT Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender . Obviously, there is still work to be done," continued Mr. Scott.

The 2006 Pride celebration will be held in West Hollywood, California West Hollywood, an incorporated city in Los Angeles County, California, was founded on 29 November 1984. The total residential population is just over 37,000; however, the nighttime and weekend population swells to between 80,000 and 100,000, with a high of up to 500,000 during  June 9-11, 2006. The festival, taking place on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 will again include main stage entertainment, numerous dance pavilions and affinity venues. Pre-sale tickets to the festival will be available in April at $15. More information on the festival activities and tickets can be found on the CSW website at www.lapride.org.

The Parade is free and will be held on Sunday, June 11 along Santa Monica Blvd. between Crescent Heights and Robertson Blvd. The parade will strongly display the 2006 theme, "Our Agenda: Love. Equality. Pride." Applications are now being accepted for parade entries; please visit www.lapride.org for an application.
