Christopher Peacock to become CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle.


Jones Lang LaSalle Jones Lang LaSalle (NYSE: JLL) is a major real estate and money management services firm headquartered in the Aon Center in Chicago, Illinois and the only company in its industry making it into Fortune magazine's list of the 100 Best Places to Work in the U.S.  Incorporated, the world's leading real estate services and investment management firm, announced today that the Board of Directors has named Christopher A. Peacock, 56, to be the firm's President and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 1, 2002. Peacock is currently President, Deputy CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Peacock will succeed Stuart L. Scott, 62, who will retire as Chief Executive Officer at the end of the year. Scott has agreed to continue serving as the Board's Chairman. Peacock's replacement as Chief Operating Officer will be chosen later in the year.

Scott said: "I am delighted the Board has confirmed my recommendation that Chris should be the next leader of our client-focused global real estate services and investment management firm. His vision and strategic direction will carry Jones Lang LaSalle to new levels of growth. Since our merger in 1999, Chris and I have worked side by side to establish a culture and business strategy that sets our firm apart in the marketplace."

Peacock said: "I am extremely pleased that Stuart has agreed to continue serving as Chairman because of his leadership and wisdom. His strong influence with key clients is another important asset that will be beneficial as we move our firm forward."

Peacock's career with the firm spans 29 years. Prior to the merger, he served as International Chief Executive Officer of Jones Lang Wootton for two years, where he led the integration of the firm's worldwide real estate services operations. Peacock was European Chief Executive Officer, beginning in 1996, and Managing Partner for the Continent of Europe in 1992. Peacock joined Jones Lang Wootton in 1972 and became a Partner two years later. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors | The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is an independent, representative professional body which regulates property professionals and surveyors in the United Kingdom and other sovereign nations. .

In other action at the Company's Annual Meeting, three new directors were elected: Robin S. Broadhurst, Chairman of Europe; Robert S. Orr, Chief Executive Officer of Europe; and William E. Sullivan, Executive Vice President, Capital Investments and Technology. Also, re-elected as Directors were Earl E. Webb, Chief Executive Officer of the Americas for Jones Lang LaSalle; Henri-Claude de Bettignies Henri-Claude de Bettignies is a scholar from INSEAD and Stanford University, specialized in Asian business, leadership, business ethics and corporate social responsibility. , Professor at INSEAD INSEAD Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (European Institute for Business Administration; now know simply as INSEAD)
