Recent additions to Netlink's product line have enhanced the company's offering for the European frame relay market as private and hybrid networks will play a much larger role in Europe than in the U.S. The OmniLinx Switch is an ideal, cost-effective solution for building private and hybrid (public/private) networks by adding capabilities typically found only in a backbone switch to the rich multiprotocol FRAD (Frame Relay Access Device or Frame Relay Assembler Disassembler) A communications device that formats outgoing data into the format required by a frame relay network. Netlink's award-winning OmniLinx family offers the industry's only complete solution for central office, branch office and data center. The products lead the industry in scalability and performance due to their advanced software architecture, powerful RISC-based platform, and network management capabilities. The OmniLinx family includes TurboFRAD for branch site access, OmniFRAD for data center access, NetFRAD for network-based access, the recently announced OmniLinx Switch for private and hybrid networks, and the OmniView SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) A widely used network monitoring and control protocol. Data are passed from SNMP agents, which are hardware and/or software processes reporting activity in each network device (hub, router, bridge, etc.  network management system.
