Christopher Kearns Joins Hot Topic as General Counsel.

Hot Topic, Inc. (Nasdaq:HOTT HOTT - (Hot Off The Tree) An Internet-based electronic magazine edited by David Scott Lewis <d.s.lewis@ieee.org> and distributed by electronic mail. ) a mall-based specialty retailer of apparel, accessories and gift items for young men and women, announced today that Christopher Kearns has joined the Company as Senior Vice President, General Counsel. He will report to Betsy McLaughlin Betsy McLaughlin (Born 1962 in Orange County, California) is the current CEO of Hot Topic, Inc. and founder of Torrid. She originally graduated from University of California, Irvine. , the Company's Chief Executive Officer.

Chris spent a decade as a lawyer in private practice, most recently as a Partner with Cooley Godward LLP LLP - Lower Layer Protocol  where Hot Topic was his client. He has deep experience in a broad range of corporate, securities, finance and commercial matters, and has provided general corporate representation to a diverse group of public and private companies in many industries. He represented Hot Topic both pre and post its initial public offering in 1996. Chris graduated with honors from the University of California The University of California has a combined student body of more than 191,000 students, over 1,340,000 living alumni, and a combined systemwide and campus endowment of just over $7.3 billion (8th largest in the United States). , Hastings College Not to be confused with University of California, Hastings College of the Law.
The Hastings College campus is situated on 109 acres. Within that space sits 40 buildings, spanning from the traditional McCormick Hall built in 1883 to the gleaming Osborne Family Sports Complex/Fleharty
