:SYY) announced today that Christopher K. Davis, senior vice president at Nobel/Sysco Food Services Company, a SYSCO subsidiary located in Denver, Colo., has been appointed executive vice president of that operation. He will assume his new responsibilities July 1, 2001, the beginning of SYSCO's fiscal year 2002.

 of SYSCO, said Mr. Davis, 40, began his SYSCO career in 1986 at the company's corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas, as an auditor in the operations review department. In 1990 he was promoted to vice president of finance at SYSCO's Baraboo, Wis. operation, and in 1996 transferred to the company's Dallas operation as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was appointed to his current duties at Nobel/Sysco Food Services Company last year. Prior to joining SYSCO he was employed as a senior consultant at Arthur Andersen Company for five years.

Mr. Davis is a native of Oklahoma City, Okla. and was raised in Tulsa. He is a Certified Public Accountant Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
