Christopher DeVault Joins Tresys Technology as Executive Vice President, Engineering Services.

COLUMBIA, Md. -- Tresys Technology, a Columbia-based IT security solutions and services provider, announces the hiring of Christopher DeVault as Executive Vice President, Engineering Services. Mr. DeVault will be responsible for managing all aspects of Tresys' growing IT security consulting and research division.

Mr. DeVault has over 15 years of experience in information technology, with a background that includes functional experience in IT organizational improvement, quality management and process development, program management, knowledge management / IT operations, and computer information security. Prior to joining Tresys, Mr. DeVault was Managing Principal for the EMC Microsoft Practice (Mid Atlantic region). In that position, he was responsible for all aspects of day-to-day operations, including business development, client care, marketing, resource management, financial management, and services delivery.

For most of his career, Mr. DeVault functioned as Program Manager and executive sponsor for many clients where he was responsible for the overall direction of execution of numerous IT programs. During the same period, Mr. DeVault developed a corporate quality management program that included all processes, tools, and systems by which the entire business operated; assisted executive management with evaluations of potential acquisitions; and provided management re-organization guidance and support. Prior to working for the EMC, he worked for the United States Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security Office of Information System Technology, where he performed IT security evaluations of several American embassies, evaluated the security of software for use by the Department of State, and developed security policy standards. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University and a Master of Science in Technical Management from the Johns Hopkins University.
