Christopher Daly wins the election.

J. Christopher Daly, President of the Sheldrake Organization, a Hempstead, N.Y.-based company he founded in 1988 to develop and manage commercial and retail properties, was unanimously elected to the boards of trustees of both the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and the Foot Clinics of New York.

Mr. Daly's two-year term of service on each board is effective as of December 1, 2003.

Mr. Daly has had wide-ranging experience owning, managing, developing and leasing residential and commercial properties. His company, the Sheldrake Organization, is one of the largest owners and managers of privatized public housing in New York State. Originally founded to develop distressed and blighted commercial properties in suburban Hempstead, the company grew rapidly into a full-service real estate firm that handles properties throughout the state. Mr. Daly oversees all components of a project's development, from initial concept through financing, construction and tenant lease-up. He is also involved in oversight of property operations, as well as management of his firm's 4,000 apartments on a day-to-day basis.

In addition to his role as President of Sheldrake, Mr. Daly is deeply committed to community service. He is a board member of a number of organizations, including the Episcopal Housing Corporation; the City of New Rochelle Police Foundation; Harbor Child Care Centers; the Rent Stabilization Association of New York; the New York State Association for Affordable Housing; and the Boys and Girls Club of Mount Vernon. He also serves as a trustee of the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine in the New York Diocese of the Episcopal Church.
