Christner's goals help Thurston tie Axemen.

Robert Christner scored two second-half goals to give Thurston a 3-3 Midwestern League boys soccer tie with host South Eugene on Thursday, dropping the No. 2-ranked Axemen into a first place tie with No. 5 Sheldon.

 and Emanuel Luvert scored consecutive goals for South in the 50th and 54th minutes, respectively, to give the Axemen a 3-1 lead. Then Christner scored his first tally in the 56th minute and then tied the match with a score in the 65th minute.

Crasilneck scored on a free kick in the 10th minute, made it 2-0 in the 18th minute off an assist from Jeff Masterson and added an unassisted goal in the 37th minute.
