Byline: By ADAM Adam, the first man, in the Bible
Adam (ăd`əm), [Heb.,=man], in the Bible, the first man. In the Book of Genesis, God creates humankind in his image as a species of male and female, giving them dominion over other life.
LEE-POTTER and KATIE O'BRIEN Katie O'Brien (born 2 May 1986) is a British tennis player from Beverley, Yorkshire. She is currently the British number 2 and is ranked 145 in the world, as of 1st October 2007 Early years

SCOTS celebrity chef In its strictest sense, a celebrity chef is a someone who has become well-known for his/her cooking. The first historical personality that fits this description is Martino da Como but in practical terms the term grew in popularity during the 1990s.  Gordon Ramsay Gordon James Ramsay OBE (born November 8, 1966 in Johnstone, Scotland) is a Scottish celebrity chef and currently one of only three chefs in the UK whose restaurant is rated at three Michelin stars. He has been awarded a total of twelve Michelin stars[1].  may be the most feared cook in Britain. But at Christmas it's his wife Tana who wears the trousers.

The foul-mouthed TV star relishes his reputation as the rudest man on telly. He famously refused to cook for Madonna, turfed out Joan Collins and even made the saintly Sir Cliff Richard swear.

But the 40-year-old Michelin-starred chef - who is worth an estimated pounds 60million, with restaurants in London, New York New York, state, United States

Wife Tana, 32, whose new recipe book Tana Ramsay's Family Kitchen is poised to become a Christmas bestseller, says: "Gordon's a pussycat really. At home, I'm the boss and he's the good guy."'

She adds: "Christmas is my domain. I buy everything, I cook everything and, don't tell Gordon, but the kids prefer my cooking. Cheese on toast beats roast duck foie gras with macerated cheese hands down when you're six years old." The Ramsays are spending Christmas at their pounds 3million South London home with their four children - Megan, eight, six-year-old twins Jack and Holly, and four-year-old Tilly.

"We lay out a plate for Santa the night before," says Tana. "Last year we left a glass of brandy, a beer, a banana and a mince pie. He wolfed the lot.

"On the big day the kids get up at 8am and come into our room to open their stockings. They all want Heelys trainers this year, though Holly is forever hoping I'll give in and get her some make-up. We have Bellinis to start and then roast goose, carrots in a sweet orange sauce, peas with cubed pancetta pan·cet·ta

and parsnips roasted in honey. For afters there are mince pies and little individual steamed puds.

"Gordon does a round of his restaurants just before lunch, just to say hello to his staff and check they're okay. When he comes back, he finishes everything off while I get the children ready. I'm his sous-chef. I prepare everything and he puts in the final flourish.

"But I don't mind. Who wouldn't want Gordon Ramsay to waltz in and finish off your Christmas dinner? That way, if anything goes wrong, I can blame it on him. Irritatingly, it never does."

Tana admits that her husband, who has just turned 40, has mellowed. "We have a swear box in the kitchen," she says. "Every time he lets rip, he has to put a pound in and I spend all the proceeds on shoes. In the old days, I was like Imelda Marcos. But he's calmed down. I haven't been able to buy a new pair of Jimmy Choos for six months."'

Tana is already busily stocking up on seasonal provisions. And she shares her - and her children's - verdicts on what's hot, and what's not, this Christmas.

Tana Ramsay's Family Kitchen: Simple Recipes For Every Family is published by Harper Collins and costs pounds 20

TANA: 'Xmas is MY domain.. I buy and cook the lot (the kids prefer it). Gordon then waltzes in at the last minute to add the final flourish'
