A TASTE of Christmas past is on offer in Birmingham over the festive season.

Demonstrations on how to cook an 18th century Christmas feast and carol singing are some of the highlights at Soho House Soho House grid reference SP053891, Matthew Boulton's home (from 1766 until he died in 1809) in Handsworth, Birmingham, England, is now a museum (opened in 1995), celebrating his life, his partnership with James Watt and his membership of the Lunar Society. , Blakesley Hall For the now demolished hall near Blakesley, see .

Visitors to the Georgian family Christmas at Soho House on December 14 can discover what food people ate at Christmas 200 years ago.

Tickets are pounds 5 for adults and pounds 3.00 for children and concessions. A family ticket for two adults and three children costs pounds 15.00.

At Blakesley Hall, there will be two Christmas Past events on December 13 between 2 until 4.30pm and 6 until 8.30pm. Visitors will be able to meet the mistress of the house preparing for Christmas. To book call 0121 464 2193.

Carol singing and victorian costumes will also greet visitors to the Museum of the Jewellery Quarter on December 13.
