Christmas crackdown on drugs; BLOXWICH.


POLICE in Bloxwich, Brownhills, Willenhall and Darlaston have arrested five

people after carrying out raids on nine addresses in the area.

Drugs warrants were executed on Monday and the operation was hailed a success by officers.

Officers from Neighbourhood Teams, Offender Management Teams and CID Cid or Cid Campeador (sĭd, Span. thēth kämpāäthōr`) [Span.,=lord conqueror], d. 1099, Spanish soldier and national hero, whose real name was Rodrigo (or Ruy) Díaz de Vivar.  joined together in an attempt to curb drugs activity in the run-up to Christmas.

Five people were arrested for drug related offences, while a further offender received a street caution for possession of cannabis.

Of the five, one was charged with possession with intent to supply class C drugs. He has been bailed to appear at Walsall Magistrates Court on 18 December.

A quantity of drugs was recovered during the raids, including heroin, amphetamines Amphetamines
Sympathomimetic amines; sometimes called speed; synthetic chemicals that stimulate the central nervous system.

Acting Inspector Steve Mason Steve Mason (died May 25 2005, aged 65) was a decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War and critically acclaimed poet. His poem "The Wall Within" was read at the 1984 dedication of the Vietnam Wall in Washington D.C. , who co-ordinated the day, said: "The arrest day was very successful. We have hopefully sent a message out across communities that we will not tolerate the misuse of drugs, and the impact they have on communities."
