, formerly Arthur D. Little's Technology & Innovation business, today announced that Dr. Christina Lampe-Onnerud, Director in its Applied Chemicals and Materials business, has been chosen as one of the world's 100 Top Young Innovators by Technology Review, MIT's Magazine of Innovation.

The TR100, chosen by Technology Review consists of 100 young individuals whose innovative work in business and technology has a profound impact on today's world. Nominees are recognized for their contribution in transforming the nature of technology in industries such as biotechnology, computing, energy, medicine, manufacturing, nanotechnology, telecommunications and transportation.

A lead inventor specializing in innovation and design of battery systems, Dr. Lampe-Onnerud applies her in-depth understanding of materials science and applied device physics to advance technologies in the portable power industry. She oversees TIAX's world-class battery labs working to dramatically improve battery run-time, energy density and battery safety. Although TIAX works with many battery systems, the firm's largest laboratory efforts involve lithium battery materials and systems, the foremost portable energy technology for longer lasting, more powerful portable electronic applications.

Dr. Lampe-Onnerud also directs market evaluations and develops strategy for some of the leading battery and chemical organizations. She consults on new innovation and technology strategy helping global industry leaders determine patent strategy, leverage novel technology developments, assess new technologies, and value R&D investments. Prior to her work with TIAX and Arthur D. Little Arthur D. Little, Inc. is the world's first management consulting firm. Founded in 1886 by Arthur Dehon Little, an MIT chemist who discovered acetate, and co-worker Roger Griffin, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Arthur D. Little pioneered the concept of contracted technology research. , Dr. Lampe-Onnerud was a Director and Senior Scientist at Bell Communications Research. She is an inventor of record on eight patent applications and has published extensively in academic and industry journals.

Dr. Lampe-Onnerud is being honored today during a conference and awards ceremony at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Massachusetts Institute of Technology, at Cambridge; coeducational; chartered 1861, opened 1865 in Boston, moved 1916. It has long been recognized as an outstanding technological institute and its Sloan School of Management has notable programs in business, . The event is entitled "The Innovation Economy: How Technology is Transforming Existing Businesses and Creating New Ones." She will be a panelist in a discussion hosted by Bob Metcalfe, inventor of the Ethernet and founder of 3Com. The TR100 symposium includes a full day of conference sessions and panel discussions followed by an evening awards ceremony.
