Christian Brothers defamed (Canada). On December 4, the National Post published a front-page story on the Christian Brothers' saga under the title "Church shielded assets from victims report." There wasn't one fact in it that hasn't been known for years. The so-called "report," also referred to in the story as "the documents," consisted of nothing but the partisan views of the lawyers for the liquidators. Terms like "misled mis·led v. Past tense and past participle of mislead. " and "orchestrated or·ches·trate tr.v. or·ches·trat·ed, or·ches·trat·ing, or·ches·trates 1. To compose or arrange (music) for performance by an orchestra. 2. " indicated the general theme that the Christian Brothers Christian Brothers: see John Baptist de la Salle, Saint. were supposed to have deceived the courts. The Archbishop of Vancouver, Adam Exner Adam Joseph Exner (born 24 December, 1928 at Killaly, Saskatchewan) was the Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vancouver from 1991 to 2004. Exner entered the religious order of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate in 1950 in St. , was accused of the same crime. Comment: In reality, neither the Brothers nor the Archbishop of Vancouver, Adam Exner, "misled" anyone when diocesan di·oc·e·san adj. Of or relating to a diocese. n. The bishop of a diocese. diocesan Adjective of or relating to a diocese Noun 1. lawyer argued that two secondary schools in Vancouver are not "assets" of the Christian Brothers at all. As noted above, that was even confirmed by a B.C. Court. The Newfoundland liquidators want to sell these school properties right from underneath Vancouver parents and students who have no connection to the Mount Cashel disorders of 25 years ago, on the grounds that some Christian brothers were administrators and teachers there. The liquidators got their pound of flesh when they bankrupted the entire Congregation of the Brothers in Canada for the sins of a few. Now they even want what never belonged to the Congregation. That is a scandal in itself. |
