Huddersfield Choral Society is an internationally famous choir based in the town of Huddersfield in the English county of West Yorkshire. It was founded in 1836 and is recognised as one of Britain's leading choirs. have re-released their 1988 recording of Messiah, made with Sir Charles at the Henry Wood Hall in London. He was conducting the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) is a British orchestra based in London. It tours widely, and is sometimes referred to as “Britain's national orchestra”. and joined by soloists Felicity Lott, Felicity Palmer, Philip Langridge and Robert Lloyd. Sir Charles is well known as a Mozart specialist, and he used the enhanced orchestration written by Mozart, rather than Handel's original. The double CD is by Signum Records (SIGCD SIGCD Signal Code 074).
