Robert Hladky Cello-bration 7 p.m. Tuesday Beall Concert Hall Twenty-three cellists and nine string bass players will be part of a free concert and reception in honor of emeritus cello professor Robert Hladky's 80th birthday. A reception will follow in Room 178 of the music building. Robert Hladky taught cello at the School of Music and Dance from 1961 until 1993, touching the lives of hundreds of students with his instruction and mentoring. In addition to cello, Hladky taught double bass and music history, and he served as director of graduate studies. He was also an active participant in the annual April Fools' Concert during its day.
