Choral: Lucy gets series off to a flying start.ALMONDBURY Ladies' Choir features in the first of a series of concerts at Thornhill Parish Church. The series of six concerts starts at 7.30pm tomorrow. They will features a wide range of music, from choirs, an orchestra, a brass band, a big band and various soloists. And the soloists start high profile with tomorrow's appearance by young soprano Lucy Rhodes. She hasn't looked back, musically speaking, since winning the BBC BBC in full British Broadcasting Corp. A girl member of a choir. of the Year title in 2002 when she was 14. From that success Lucy's journey towards a career as a professional singer took off. She is from North Yorkshire, has three sisters and has made regular appearances on SongsOf Praise and was featured on BBC1's programme How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? the search to find a leading lady for the new West End production of The Sound of Music. On reaching the final audition stage Lucy was rejected by the panel. But she was later personally invited back by Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber Noun 1. These days Lucy is busy with radio and concert appearances across the country. The Almondbury choir is led by Angela Griffith, once a member of St Michael's Singers at Thornhill.
