Choir date in thank-you to ambulance.


A WALSALL choir is to stage a special concert as a thank-you to the Cornwall Air Ambulance The Cornwall Air Ambulance is a dedicated helicopter emergency medical service for Cornwall. The helicopter carries out approximately 1000 missions a year. Cornwall's Air Ambulance when introduced on 1st April 1987 became the first dedicated Helicopter Emergency Medical Service  who came to the aid of one of their members earlier this year.

The ladies section of Shelfield Male Voice Choir had organised a short holiday on the south coast, and one of the members was taken ill on Bodmin Moor Bodmin Moor (Cornish: Goen Bren) is a granite moorland in northeastern Cornwall, UK, 208 km² in size, dating from the Carboniferous period of geological history.

The name "Bodmin Moor" is relatively recent, being an Ordnance Survey invention of 1813.

In the emergency, the local air ambulance air ambulance Emergency medicine A helicopter or, less commonly, a fixed wing aircraft, used to evacuate a person who requires immediate medical attention that cannot be provided at his/her current location  had to be called out to rush the patient to Truro Hospital, and happily he has now recovered.

, said: "As a thankyou, we have decided to stage a concert in Walsall Central Hall on November 7, and all proceeds will be donated to the Cornwall Air Ambulance.

"The concert will start at 7.30pm and we shall sing a wide range of music."
