 commenced a tender offer on January 20, 1999, for the price of $50.50 per share. This offer is 12.25% lower than yesterday's closing price of $56 11/16 on the NYSE for ChoicePoint shares. Since the beginning of the year, ChoicePoint stock has traded at a high of $64 3/16 per share and a low of $53 3/16 per share, well above the tender offer price. ChoicePoint does not endorse this tender offer and strongly suggests that shareholders reject the tender offer on the basis of inadequate price.

In a Wall Street Journal article published January 28th of this year ChoicePoint learned IG Holdings has made a business of making unsolicited offers to buy small stakes in publicly traded companies publicly traded company
