DEBTOR Discovery

DEBTOR Discovery significantly reduces the number of accounts that are charged off to bad debt by increasing the ability to locate debtors while decreasing the search time. Using complex algorithms to link and cross-reference various sources of data, DEBTOR Discovery provides phone numbers and identifies relatives, assets and business affiliations to locate delinquent debtors.

"DEBTOR Discovery tracks down debtors that other systems may miss," said Kimberly Bean, director of banking and financial services for ChoicePoint. DEBTOR Discovery uses the same technology employed by law enforcement to locate criminals nationwide. And a national retailer experienced a 35 percent right-party contact rate, even after using multiple competitors and paying an outside collection agency.

Signal IVS

Complementing DEBTOR Discovery is Signal IVS, an on-line workflow automated identity verification product that verifies self-reported client information quickly and efficiently. The Signal IVS technology reduces the amount of time spent manually researching mismatches between applicant and credit bureau reported information. Its automated, robust data sources and flexible access helps businesses reduce risk and more efficiently manage business processes.

"Signal IVS streamlines the identity verification application processing, reduces client acquisition costs and identifies misrepresented consumer information that may indicate fraud," said Bean.

Using proprietary analytics, Signal IVS examines key elements of applicant reported information, such as name, address, and phone number. By cross-referencing the input data against ChoicePoint's data warehouse, Signal IVS identifies matches, discrepancies and near matches by returning a series of Yes/No flags on over 50 key indicators. These indicative flags give businesses the ability to easily integrate the Signal IVS solution directly into their legacy environment and provides them with flexibility in customizing business logic to meet their own unique requirements.

Developed in conjunction with one of the largest credit card issuers in the nation, Signal IVS was able to validate applicant name matches for 50 percent of the addresses that would typically have required manual intervention.
