Choice One Carrier Services and Full Service Network Sign Agreement for UNE-P Alternative.


ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Choice One Communications Choice One Communications is a Rochester, New York-based CLEC providing Telecommunications services to commercial entities. The company was founded in 1998 as an "alternative to the incumbent local phone carriers".  today announced that Full Service Network (FSN (Full-Service Network) A communications network that provides shopping, movies on demand and access to databases and a variety of interactive services. ) has signed a long-term arrangement to purchase UNE-P UNE-P Unbundled Network Element - Platform  Alternative Access. FSN has already begun to port customers onto Choice One's network and will transition thousands more new and existing lines to Choice One over the next 12 months.

FSN now has a choice of provisioning options instead of being locked in to the ILEC's UNE-P arrangement. "The depth and density of our central office footprint allows us to step in and fill the void for carriers losing UNE-P access," said Nick Sgroi, Vice President of Choice One Carrier Services. "Across the markets we serve, we have the best equipped network to meet the needs for alternative access and we look forward to continued growth in this segment. Both Choice One and FSN shared a common goal and we focused more on building a long term partnership than simply striking a deal," he added.
