The new vanillas are Indonesian, Papua New Guinea, and Mexican in origin. According to Choctal, "Each new ice cream has a wonderfully unique flavor profile determined by the origin of the vanilla plant, the growing conditions and the processing. Indonesian Vanilla blends the creamy sweetness of classic bourbon vanilla, with a luscious woody floral note that contributes to the ice cream's deep, full-bodied flavor. Mexican Vanilla is sweet and spicy with a touch of cinnamon and a coconut finish. Papua New Guinea Vanilla has fruity, floral notes of cherry that linger on the palate during a long, lush finish. The Costa Rican Rain Forest Chocolate and Vanilla combines the well-balanced flavors of coffee and caramel in the chocolate with classic, full-flavored Gardella Rainforest Vanilla." These highly specialized ice creams are available in pint containers in hundreds of grocery, specialty and natural food stores across the country.
